Description It is an artwork of the Russian monk Andrei Rublyov (student of the hagiographer Theophanes) in 1515 AD, for the decoration of the Cathedral of the Ascension of Christ in Moscow. It is considered one of the greatest artworks for its theological synthesis, the richness of symbolisms and its superior artistic value. It is exhibited in the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow.

On the moving leaves of the triptych Archangel Michael is depicted on the right and the left side, with the same brushwork as the central image.
