Description Many saints have the nickname Saints Anargyroi, because many saints who studied medicine offered their services to anyone who was in need and penniless. Some of them even offered money and not only to those of the Christian faith. The two most famous saints-doctors are the brothers Kosmas and Damianos. Our church celebrates Kosmas and Damianos the Romans on July 1 and Kosmas and Damianos the Asians on November 1. Saints Anargyroi, the Roman siblings were known throughout Rome for their charity and selfless giving to both poor and rich. They were killed by their fellow colleagues who envied them. Kosmas and Damian the Asians lived their lives teaching the word of God and offering their medical advice. They rested peacefully.
