Description The amaranth Rose, a symbolism of the amaranth flower of Mary’s virginity, was the inspiration and creation of a hagiographer in Zagori, Ioannina, in 1790. The original painting is kept in the Holy Monastery of the Transfiguration of the Christ on the Great Meteoron, Meteora.
