Description Saint Charalampus, a priest in Magnesia of Asia Minor lived his life teaching the word of Christ. When he was in deep into old age, in 198 AD, the Emperor Severus unleashed a persecution against Christians. The Prefect of Magnesia Lucian arrested the Saint and subjected him to horrific tortures to make him renounce his faith. Part of his skull is kept in the monastery of Saint Stephen, Meteora and in a church named after him in Thespies of Boeotia.

Silkscreen icon with silver coating, locally gilded, made of aged natural wood; the picture is accompanied by a wooden stand.
