Description One of the Angels of the Christian religion, Archangel Raphael, is referred to as the Angel sent by God to heal people from diseases. For this reason his name means "The Lord Heals." The book "Tobit" of the Bible mentions the contribution of Archangel Raphael to the son of Tobias the elder, Tobit, during his long journey to Ragus of Medea, where he helped him return back to his father safely. Archangel Raphael is considered one of the seven angels of the Apocalypse, in which he offers to the throne of God the prayers of the people. For the faithful Orthodox, Archangel Raphael is the patron of the patients, who assists in their treatment.
