Description It is an artwork of the 17th century, of the Cretan painter Victor. St. Catherine is depicted seated on a throne, with princely clothes, surrounded by her books - an indication of her wisdom and education. She holds a branch of a palm tree (symbol of a Martyr) and the cross with the Crucifix, while next to her the large wheel of martyrdom is depicted. The original icon is exhibited in the Byzantine Museum of Athens.
